Guilty Pleasures!!

Everyone has them! They are the things we love to hate and hate to love. Some of us are secretly proud of that Backstreet Boys playlist, or the god awful onesie that your granny picked out!

So in the spirit of lifting my bad mood, have some guilty pleasures!

A Haul??

Yesterday I posted about finding great bargains in charity shops. Well little did I know I would find some amazing things when I was out today! every so often I do this thing where I go to Penneys (Primark for the Brits) and see what I can find for under 10 euro. Today I was feeling adventurous so I decided to just buy a few bits on sale and not worry about the price.

So without further ado....

Change Is Good

Lately I've found myself very much in a rut. I have two wardrobes full to bursting with clothes, but I seem to go back to the same few hoodies, the same few jeans, shoes and tops all the time.

I need a change.

So no more "trendy shopping" for me for a while, its time to invest in some staples, some tights and some accessories.

I used to have this plaid shirt that I absolutely ADORED but when I started to gain weight I threw it out because it was too tight for me. Now I'm regretting it. Big time.

Mani-Q No.1 - The Fault in our Stars

Some back story...

Before Christmas, I went to a nail salon with one motive, and one only. To get some help to stop biting my nails.

I've Had A Little "Me" Time...

...And now I feel much more capable of being there for everyone I love!

This week got off to a bad start but today seems to be making up for it. Its been a very long time since I've had to lock myself into the bathroom and cry. Incidentally, I hope its a long time until I need to again! It wasn't something I felt nostalgic about or anything of the sort, in fact, it gave me a headache that I had for hours later... So at least I am happy about being very level lately! Thanks to Kayliegh for reminding me I'm allowed to have a bad day, I appreciate the reminder.

So between yesterday and right now, things that have made me smile are as follows...

I Think I've Found It!!!

My Niche, that is.

A good chat with a good friend (Thanks Darragh!!) tonight has drawn me to the conclusion that helping people not only makes the people I talk to and help, happy, but it makes me happy too. It gives me a sense of purpose.

Well.
This is new.
Having a genuine idea what my life could be spent doing?!

Totes bizarre!! I've never known what I want to do. Holy shit! Excuse me while I promptly freak out!!

Hmmmmmm *breathes loudly*

Well when Chris wakes up tomorrow he better be as jazzed as I am!!

Draw Your Own Conclusions...

Some people say that red-heads have fiery tempers. That we are easily angered and cant control our tempers like other people (blondes, brunettes) can.

Maybe that's true. Maybe it isn't. But I can say for myself, that I can find it hard at times to control my emotions. Jesus, I've spent the last 18 months in and out of psychiatrists and psychologists offices to help me with the things that hamper me. I used to live in perpetual sadness. I was always miserable, even when it would seem to the world that I was happy, happy, happy! I got good at lying to everyone around me.

I Like A Lot of Books....

...And so I want to share my "Top 5" books that I enjoy... This could become a nerd-out, but I will do my best to contain it. And also, I am not including the Harry Potter books, Lord of the Rings, or The Hunger Games Trilogy because, a) that's 13 books, and b) they are in their own league!

In no particular order, I give thee...

1. Now is Good (Before I Die) by Jenny Downham.

I have a blog-post about this. I wont go into the plot, but I will say this: I sobbed like a baby during this book. It broke my heart!!

Have tissues on hand for this one!

2. Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt.

I have read this half a dozen times since I was 12 or 13.

Its the memoir of Franks own life and childhood. You will laugh, cry and it will have you reminiscing on your own childhood after you close the book...

3. The Fault in our Stars by John Green.

Forgive this one, I'm still in TFioS mode from Wednesday night. But the fact remains that this book is amazing! Another book to go along with a giant box of Kleenex.

Okay?
Okay.

4. One Day by David Nichols.

This chronicles Em and Dex, the same day, every year for 20 years. I was skeptical when I read it but it was amazing! It has a great twist at the end that you are absolutely not expecting.

A great book, and very engrossing! :D

5. Assassins Creed: Brotherhood by Oliver Bowden.

Technically it shouldnt be on the list because I havent finished it, but I am enjoying it so much I think I can tell you that this book, is indeed the novel of a video-game. I am unashamed to say this. It follows Ezio Auditore DiFirenze as he attempts to take down Borgia forces who are destroying Rome.

Buy it. Read it.
Love it.

What are your Top 5 Books? Leave a comment and let me know!

Vlogbrothers In Dublin!

Lets start by just assuming you don't know who John and Hank Green are...

The "Vlogbrothers" are a YouTube duo that began their channel in 2007, with the plan that they would communicate every day for a year via video-blog! Cool idea, right? Well it gets better! With this idea, that they entitled "Brotherhood:2.0", though they were publicly available videos, they really only started to actively gain notoriety about 6 months into the project, thanks to Hanks AMAZING song, "Accio Deathly Hallows", a song about the upcoming Harry Potter book (at the time). Thankfully when B:2.0 ended in the December of '07, they continued to make videos and have gained a huge global fan-base  and in the last 5 years, 6 if you count the B:2.0 year, they have founded and created more awesome things than most people do in a lifetime!

If At First You Don't Succeed...

...Try, Try Again!

I spent AN HOUR (!!!) typing and formatting a blog post because I couldn't sleep... I was at least 1200 words long. But of course, in trying to undo a mistake, I managed to lose the whole post!! RAGE!!

So instead, I'm going to post a few pictures of my main style icons, and write a wee bit about what I like about them :)

Without further ado, I give you...

Lucy Hale.

AKA Aria Montgomery of Pretty Little Liars.

I adore Lucy, ever since I saw her in Privileged. I feel like we have similar body types, as well as similar taste in style. Its very eclectic and the colors are deep, which I love, though she can pull off brighter tones too!!

Book Review: Now Is Good

So...Books!

I love books. I always have. I go in and out of phases of reading but lately I'm all about buying books.

Don't get me wrong, I have a Kindle and I love it, but its nice to hold a book in your hands, get the smell of the pages and have the motion of actually turning a page, rather than clicking a button... With that said, the Kindle has its positive points too, such as, when I have it in my bag, I have 70, 80, 90+ books in one place without it ever gaining one single ounce!

I was thinking of reviewing the books I read, to see what interest is out there for it. I am currently reading "Assassins Creed: Brotherhood", but I have recently finished "Now is Good" and "Beastly" so I may review them in due course.

Actually. Screw it. I'm going to review "Now Is Good", right here, right now!

Da da da da da daaaaaaaa!!!

Lets Get Started!!

So, Um... Hi, Everyone!! *waves*

Lets start with the introductions, I suppose. I'm Amy, I'm 20, though nearer to 21 at this point, and I'm...well, I'm just me. Always have been. I'm the walking, talking, living embodiment of someone who is just themselves and no more.

I enjoy things, and I loathe things, as do most people, I guess. I love the little things, good tea, mature cheese, a catchy beat, expensive sports, and being in love. I also love the big things; Friends, family and the value of a smile.

But, for every good, there is a bad. I hate being made feel bad, I hate liars, bigots (and for both of those certain people spring to mind!) and people who seek to take away another persons right to do the things they want to do. Unless its illegal! I hate Barry's Tea. Hate. It. I cannot abide the stuff. I hate fighting with people, or people fighting with each other. Making people happy is something I strive to do.

So now, the random things. I am ginger, a clean freak, happy, sad, madly in love, an admirer of fashion, a worrier, a lover, a hugger, a giver of pet names, into music, a huge fan of HIM and generally an open book!

I will talk about almost anything, and that includes face to face. So, hopefully on this I will be able to do the same.

Look out for book reviews, movie reviews, fashion, make-up, life and everything else in between!

Oh! And here's a picture of me (and my boyfriend, Chris)!!
