Recommended To Red: Eylure Strip Lashes

Lashes. You either love them or you loathe them, from what I can tell.

Up until last week I had only worn strip lashes once, when I had my make-up done by a MAC artist for a debs. I've had individual lashes applied once or twice, most recently by Niamh Martin of Nima Brush at the #LLAMMeetup.

However, for Halloween I decided that lashes would make my whole ensemble look more dramatic and fabulous. So, I asked the only person I trust with such obviously pressing matters, my lovely friend and fellow blogger, Kayliegh. God knows I shouldn't though cause she recommends amazing things and my bank balance suffers greatly as a result... Hey ho, though, I love it really!!

The newest object of my affection are the Eylure Cheryl strip lashes. They are absolutely fabulous, make no mistake, and for many reasons.

First, I went to boots and they were on 3 for 2 so I was able to buy a really good Duo Lash Adhesive and the Bourjois Lash Applicator Tool alongside them. Second, they are so light and fluffy, but full and natural looking, comparable (at least by looking at the packaging) to the Ardell Demi Wispies. They are also on a totally clear, really thin band so I did not even remember I was wearing them once they were applied. It also doesn't hurt that they are reusable too, and with proper care and attention should last a good long while.

To apply these lashes I measured them against my natural lashline, trimmed them from the outside edge (the longer lashes are the outer edge) and then applied a thin layer of Duo to the strip, making sure to add a touch more at the ends to avoid any lifting throughout the night. When the glue becomes tacky, you firmly press the centre of the strip to the centre of your lashes as close to the base of your lashes as you can and then fix the ends. If you need to cover the band slightly at the inner corner with liner then feel free to do so.

I have to admit feeling a bit daunted by the whole ordeal, I mean lashes are something I see Emma Pickles and Samantha Chapman do all the time but would I really be able to emulate my beauty guru role models?? Actually I was, it was so easy, I was pretty surprised to be honest. I popped a splodge of glue to the back of my hand and ran the lash band through to make things easier.

Surprisingly, they applied really easily and I wasn't left feeling like an inept female human. These lashes are absolutely perfect if like me you're a lash newbie, and they look amazing when they're on.

Thanks to Kayliegh I'm now a convert to the magic of lashes and these beauties shall be top of the list for a long time to come!
