Recommended to Red: Batiste Dry Shampoo

Batiste Dry Shampoo - Pretty and Opulent Oriental
In this edition of Recommended To Red, I'm going to be talking about Batiste Dry Shampoo.

Dry shampoo is something I used to scoff at. I would laugh derisively and pass comment on how it must be a gimmick, how could that freshen you up?! Oh how wrong I was.

My friend Anna is an aficionado of the stuff, she adores it, literally mowing through tins of the stuff. She has tried every scent under the sun I'd say. When I helped her pack to move home this past summer, there was an empty tin in the bin and a fresh one coming home. It was mad. How could one person love a product so much? Maybe it worked after all.

So after much deliberation I picked up a tin of it a couple of months ago in Boots in the Jervis. The fragrance I picked up was "Pretty and Opulent Oriental". I will admit to having mostly bought it for the tin. It's just so nice. However I was impressed. The product actually does work. It freshens me up when my hair is feeling lank and lifeless. It adds volume and rids me of excess grease. What can I say? It did what I thought it could not and all with a beautiful scent. The scent, let me add, is flowery and sensual, and lasts for ages, to boot!

Colour me converted. Now I'm professing my love for it to your all, and I hope if you're on the fence you try it and love it as much as I did.

  1. Im curious myself about how effective dry shampoos are - Im yet to use one. Does it actually make your hair fresh as a wash?

    1. They're actually really effective, though I would say they're gonna get less effective the greasier your hair is. I find that dry shampoo is only good for 2nd to 3rd day hair. Anything after that it's going to struggle.

When it comes to freshening, I find it's just as effective as traditional washing and the lovely scent lingers similarly to how shampoo leaves a lingering scent too.
